OUR TEAM
Kathy Mckenzie
Owner / Instructor
For the last 30 years, I have had the best job in the world.

I have been fortunate enough to be involved in the horse journey for hundreds of kids and many adults. Nothing is more rewarding than being involved with adults and kids who share the same passion and love that I do.

I purchased the stable in 1993, as something to do temporarily after I quit my engineering job in order to stay home and raise my kids. We felt the barn would be a great place for them to grow up. And it has been one of the best decisions ever. So much for temporary!

Our journey started small and has led to training youth who ride for pleasure and enjoyment to those who go on to compete. We have trained many talented all-around riders who have won too many national titles and highpoints to keep track of.

Our riders learn to exhibit sportsmanship, learn how to win and lose, learn the value of hard work and discipline, all while having fun and creating lifelong friendships.

We welcome riders of all ages and levels of experience

Please contact us if you would like to become part of the Stoneridge Family.

Lauren Coffman
Trainer/Riding Instructor
Hi, my name is Lauren Coffman and I’m so excited you are interested in horse riding!
I am a graduate of Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) and hold a degree in Animal Science, Biotechnology and a certificate in Equine Enterprise Management. I began riding at 10 years old and found my passion. I showed saddleseat for three years before finding Stoneridge Acres. I immediately fell in love with the environment and Pony of the America’s breed that Stoneridge specializes in.
Since riding at Stoneridge, I have worked in several positions including: feeder, stall cleaner, and my favorite - lesson instructor! I was fortunate enough to lease a POA and learn the breed before getting my own “RBR Willy Boy,” known as Scooby. Together, Scooby and I have shown across the country and won championships and Highpoint awards. We were top 10 in the nation all-around, reserve highpoint 14-18 team at the national congress, and have won 11 national titles together. I have been blessed to show others horses and win titles in many events including english, western, reining, jumping, and speed events.
Now that I am an adult, I specialize in training horses to fit with a youth rider and training youth riders in the all-around events. I have placed in both english and western futurities as well as in-hand events. My students have won numerous titles and highpoints all the way through the national level. No matter your goals with horses, small or large, I hope that I can be a part of it!
